WHO WE ARE
Rekerdres & Sons is a presidential award-winning boutique insurance agency based in the burgeoning city of Dallas. While our roots are Texan, our close knit family has been groomed in the old London insurance traditions. A third generation company, we have specialized in ocean marine cargo insurance and soft agricultural commodities since 1953.
Our founder chose to look at insurance from the merchant upward, rather than from the insurance broker downward. By meeting with farmers, merchants, and warehousemen the world over, combined with real life knowledge of logistics, contracts, banking, financing, a unique approach to commodity insurance was born.

A message from our president
“Rekerdres & Sons Insurance Agency was founded in 1953, when my grandfather began helping farmers, merchants, and warehouse operators protect the goods that sustained their livelihoods. My father carried that work forward, deepening our relationships and expanding our expertise as global trade, logistics, and risk grew more complex.
Today, as the third-generation owner and president, I see my role as both steward and builder.
Stewardship means honoring the trust our clients place in us — not just to place insurance, but to understand their operations, walk their facilities, ask hard questions, and advocate for them with clarity and integrity. We have never believed in “off-the-shelf” insurance. Our work has always been personal, detailed, and grounded in real-world understanding of property, commodities, logistics, and the risks that surround them.
Building means evolving alongside our clients. Supply chains are more interconnected, exposures are less forgiving, and the margin for misunderstanding risk is smaller than ever. Our job is to help clients navigate that reality, through thoughtful program design, practical risk management, and long-term partnerships with underwriters who value transparency and discipline.
We remain a boutique agency by design. That allows us to stay close to our clients, responsive in moments that matter, and deeply engaged in the work behind every policy we place. Whether we are supporting a family-owned operation or a multi-national enterprise, our commitment is the same: listen carefully, think critically, and act in our client’s best interest.
